All of us are known by different titles which tells something about who we are as a person. Titles such as sister, mother, daughter, friend and others are descriptions of a person. The same is true concerning the person of the Holy Spirit. In the New Testament, the Holy Spirit is referred to by 13 different titles.
I will list these titles and the scripture references. Please take the time to read the references.

2.THE SPIRIT OF GOD: I Corinthians3:16
3. THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST: Romans 8:9
4. THE ETERNAL SPIRIT: Hebrews 9:14
5. THE SPIRIT OF GRACE: Hebrews 10:29
6. THE SPIRIT OF GLORY: I Peter 4:14
7. THE SPIRIT OF LIFE: Romans 8:2
8. THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM AND REVELATION: Ephesians 1:19
9. THE COMFORTER: John 14:26
10. THE SPIRIT OF PROMISE: Acts 1:4, 5
11. THE SPIRIT OF ADOPTION: Romans 8:15
12. THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS: Romans 1:4
13. THE SPIRIT OF FAITH: 2 Corinthians 4:13
In the scriptures, the Holy Spirit is described by certain emblems or symbols. I am sure you can think of some of these. The first one is a dove that appeared at the baptism of Jesus, John 1:32. The dove indicates peace and purity.
The following is a list of other emblems that are given to describe the Holy Spirit.
Water: indicates life and cleansing; Isaiah 44:3; John 7:37-39
Oil: indicates light; Luke 4:18; Healing; Acts 10:38; Anointing for service; Hebrews 1:9
Seal: indicates ownership, finished transaction, identification, security, genuineness, value, authority: Ephesians 1:13; 4:30: 2 Corinthians 1:22
Wind: indicates the unseen power; Acts 2:1, 2; John 3:8
Fire: indicates presence, Exodus 3:2; approval, Leviticus 9:24; protection, Exodus 13:21; gift, Acts 2:3; judgment, Hebrews 12:29; purifying, Isaiah 6:1-8

Our lesson for January 19 is lesson 2 "The Holy Spirit's Relationship with You" beginning on page 133.
At the time of salvation, if a person accepts Christ he receives five ministries of the Holy Spirit.
Four of these ministries can never be lost and therefore need not be ask for again. But there is one ministry that can be lost and needs to be ask for as many times as needed.This is your assignment: Name these five ministries.
